Abstract: Jane Eyre (1847) is a novel by English writer Charlotte Brontë, published under the pen name Currer Bell. The novel was the first of its kind to use first-person narrative to highlight the protagonist's moral and spiritual development. Often credited for revolutionizing prose fiction, the book is also considered to be ahead of its time for how it explores topics like class, sexuality, religion, and feminism, and for Jane's individualistic character.
